Bennett driving Carter around...Great news…the oncologist called us today to tell us the bone biopsy results came in NEGATIVE for cancer!!!! We are thrilled! He said it was just a small bone sample, but he believes the cancer did not spread. We are going back to the feelings we had when we got the original pathology report on Carter’s liver post-transplant saying “no residual effects of hepatoblastoma”. We felt confident then that Carter’s body was cancer-free, and we now firmly believe that again. We just had a scare with his weak bones showing up in the CT scan. We will re-scan again in another 6-8 weeks. In the meantime, our doctor will consult with an endocrinologist to get Carter on some type of calcium and vitamin D regimen.
We will continue this journal of Carter’s battle with liver cancer until we have a clear CT scan in 6-8 weeks. However, we are hoping for not as much drama and excitement in the weeks to come. So, we will not be updating the blog daily anymore (maybe once or twice a week). Hopefully, the next several weeks leading up to that scan will be filled with lots of healing and rehabilitation. We would like to continue to keep everyone abreast of the GOOD news that should be coming out of the next couple months. Thanks for your continued support! Carter starts physical therapy tomorrow.
