Our rock star wouldn't take his sunglasses off all day
It is nice to be at this monthly marker and FINALLY be able to breathe a little easier. Carter had an oncology appointment at CHOC today. They took a blood sample to share with the endocrinologist, and we have to try and obtain a urine sample from Carter tomorrow. It gets a little tricky to get one from a child who is not potty trained. We’ll find a way though! And from this information, the endocrinologist can put together a regimen for Carter.
At dinner tonight, Carter’s “favorite part of the day” was seeing two of his favorite doctors while at CHOC. The people treating Carter have definitely become our extended friends and family. And I know many of them now even read the blog. Some of them told us not to feel as if we have to filter anything we say in the blog. We told them we have never felt that way and we tell this story for Carter, the raw truth of it all. And the truth being, we have been in the hands of wonderful doctors and nurses at CHOC and UCLA. These people have been instrumental in getting us through this process successfully.
Oh goody you posted something...still obsessed! Loving the sunglasses for the cool guy. Looks like he is eating something yummy! How great that his favorite thing was seeing two of his doctors...that tells alot about the quality of care you have gotten from Choc and UCLA...the guys poking and proding are still his buds! ReplyDeleteHere's the truth...he is a rock star! The amazing news is how much Carter has taught my family and myself...and included in these life lessons are the the ones you, Benny, Matt and even Davis (chosing to be born into this loving, energizing, supportive family)continue to affirm for us.

He is so cute! Good luck on the urine sample!!! I'm sure the doctors have become an extended family and have been extremely important in helping you successfully fight this battle! It's nice that he thinks they are so great too not knowing the extent of everything that has been going on. Give everyone hugs for us and have a fun and uneventful week!
