SOOO thankful! We have never been so thankful for health, love, family and friends as we are this year. Never in our worst nightmares would we have imagined last Thanksgiving we would be battling for our son’s life this year. We are so thankful for the doctors, nurses, and medicine. We are grateful to be in this day and age when all of this treatment is possible. Our hearts ache for families who have lost children to this awful disease before us.
We wouldn’t have been able to be so strong throughout this ordeal without the support and prayers from family and friends (and complete strangers who have become friends). We will forever be appreciative for your continued support.
Our family has so much gratitude for Carter’s donor’s family. Carter would not be doing this great without his “perfect match”. There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t reflect and honor what a difficult and generous decision that family made. We cannot imagine how this holiday is for them, but we have never been more indebted. Their angel…our angel…saved Carter’s life. We hope they find peace on this day.
Matt and I are lucky to have each other and three wonderful boys. Bennett has demonstrated more strength and patience than we thought ever possible. Davis was a shining light when our family needed a fantastic distraction. And Carter is our fighter, our hero. His courage and attitude has given us a life’s worth of inspiration.
We love you all. We are blessed and so thankful today.
Wow! Well said Kara. Davis has such cute cheeks!!! We are thankful that Carter rocks and that he is such a strong boy. The donor family has a huge heart, just like you said. Giving thanks this year is very different than last year for me as well. Carter changed my outlook on life. He gave me perspective that I did not have. Thanks for a very valuable lesson. Praying for you always. Happy Thanksgiving Kipp family.

ReplyDeleteThinking of you all always. So glad to see that you are all so blessed. Carter is such a champ, but it is obvious that he couldn't do it without such a great support staff. Kara-you have such a wonderful way with words...It makes me thankful this evening (after a long day with the extended familY...) that I have so much to be thankful for. You have truly turned my daunting day into a day that I will remember always. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving Kipp Family! We are so thankful for Carter's health and also for what you all have taught us throughout this year. We love you all and are thinking of you always.

We are so thankful to know you all. By sharing Carter's story, we have probably hugged our babies a little tighter, a little more often. We have learned about a terrible disease and how one little boy can smush it with all his might. Happy Thanksgiving to the Kipps. We all have so much to be thanful for, and Carter's sweet smile is definitely on that list. Lots of love to you. Daralyn and Family.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, glad Carter is doing so well.
