Carter’s cold is getting better

Boys before bed time

Carter seems to be feeling better and is playing more independently, which is always a sign he feels good. Hopefully, the G-CSF and antibiotic he is on are working. We won’t get blood work done again until Monday, but we’re hoping his ANC starts to jump up before then. It seems to be a little harder for Carter to walk lately. Hopefully, he isn’t in any pain when he’s walking. He’s still trying to keep up with big brother, but there is lots of falling down. The doctors are not planning on doing any chemo for the next couple weeks. We are hopeful this will give his body a chance to get strong and we are also hoping the liver transplant call comes during this time. If we are closer to three weeks without a new liver, we may have to start on some chemo again. In the meantime, we are welcoming the break and maybe some of the side effects will lessen a bit.

Mom had an ultrasound today and Baby Brother looks healthy. He is measuring about six days early, but we’re hoping this isn’t the case. We need to buy as much time as possible before his arrival. I had the same ultrasound tech I had last time when I was hysterical while laying down on the table. Today, she apprehensively asked how Carter was doing. I told her he was on the transplant list and was able to have a tear-free conversation. Later, I was talking to my doctor about Carter and the transplant process. And it’s so hard to not feel so deeply for the donor’s family. We are still thinking about that little girl’s family from Tuesday’s call from UCLA. Yes, it’s very difficult to be on the recipient’s side of the process, but the pain on the donor’s side in incomprehensible. It is the most incredible thing a family can do.

The best man at our wedding and Bennett’s Godfather, Nick, and his wife, Kim, just had a baby boy today. He is undergoing some testing in the NICU, but we know everything will be okay. Welcome to the world Colby! You have two amazing parents! Congratulations Nick and Kim!! We love you!

And today is also Matt’s sister’s birthday. Happy birthday Auntie Tracy! We hope you had a great day!! We love you too!...and can’t wait for baby news from you in the next couple weeks!

  1. Love hearing you get to stop the chemo for a while. That is great news and must mean the doctors are very comfortable with the results. Now you can just try to enjoy the next few weeks while you wait. Let's all start praying for a new liver by next Wednesday...it might just happen! Big hugs and stay relaxed because it will all work out!

  3. What a cute, happy photo! What's your due date? And I have a BUNCH of Playhouse Disney videos for the boys...let me know if you're around Sunday around 5 or 6 and I can drop them off, or just leave with your Mom and my Dad and she can deliver whenever she's next over there...

You guys are so positive - it's inspiring. It won't be long now until the right liver comes along...and then there's no stopping Carter!

    take care Kipps!

  4. Lord touch Carter and strengthen him in the mighty name of Jesus. Touch his muscles and where they have weakened strengthen them in the mighty name of Jesus. I speak to the ANC count within Carter and command you to return to normal healthy levels. I keep speaking to that tumor...shrink and dissolve in Jesus' mighty name. Father bless this family with such health and joy...for Your joy is their strength.

Father touch the donor family right now....comfort them and prepare them to make the right decision to donate in Jesus' mighty name. Father orchestrate this transplant, let it go flawlessly in the name of Jesus. Bless both families in Jesus' mighty name.

May Tracy be surrounded by Your awesome liquid love. Bless this young lady beyond measure...especially in this her birthday season.

Thank You Lord for the new wee one! Babies are such bundles of joy straight from Your throneroom. Bless this young family and Colby with Your supernatural health...many blessings.

Well beloved Kipps, CWL is still standing with you in faith. We are a small congregation...7 on a good night right now, but we all are believing the Father for a creative miracle for Carter and your entire family. Many hugs and blessings! Praying the call come soon!
