Carter bouncing on Dadda's belly
and thinking he's funny!Wow! We heard hundreds of people showed up to El Torito for lunch and dinner today! It makes me cry every time I think about it. So amazing! I grew up in the Newport area, and Matt and I were so happy to move back here when we got married nine years ago. It is a special place to live, and we know wonderful people who live here. It almost has the sense of a small town feel with the outpouring of support we have received. The area has a lot of heart, and today proved that! We know the wait today at the restaurant often exceeded two hours, and people were willing to wait. Thank you, thank you to everyone who came out to support Carter. You are all amazing, and our family really appreciates everything. We are lucky to live here!
And, of course, thank you again to Sarah for organizing this event!! We didn’t know what to expect, but we didn’t expect this. Incredible! We are very grateful. And thank you to so many people that forwarded the information along to friends and family.
Carter had a good day again today. He slept in until 6:30am, which made everyone happy. Carter and Mom played at home while Bennett had “beach day” at summer school. In the afternoon, one of our friends who just had a baby boy five weeks ago came over to visit. Carter was so sweet with him and we know he’ll be a great big brother!
It was awesome. Even at 9 pm, the place was still PACKED!
ReplyDeleteIt was such a nice event and everyone was so happy to support your family! Charlie kept looking at my with a pouty face going, "when do I get to eat with carter???". Too funny. Sending love and prayers to you guys!
