The boys rocking out!
Enough said...Well, Carter ate his usual breakfast of oatmeal around 7:30am this morning. Then, at 9:00am he wanted penne pasta with alfredo sauce. Seems like a funny time to have it, but I’ll give him anything he feels like eating. Around noon he had Sharky’s Mexican Food’s bbq chicken pizza and lots of chips and guacamole. Then, at 5:30pm a pb&j sandwich, followed by an assortment of things for dinner at 6:30pm. I feel like I’m feeding someone gearing up for the Iron Man competition. Some days he won’t eat a thing, and the next he’ll eat a ton. We’re just hoping he doesn’t lose any more weight in the remaining rounds of chemo.
Something good that has come from this whole experience is that Carter is so much more verbal than he was prior to his diagnosis. We don’t know if it’s the one-on-one time he is getting with us, or the increased time he’s away from his older brother who monopolizes the conversations. Either way, Carter’s vocabulary has probably tripled (if not more) in the past month. And he’s not modest about his Broviac and tubes as he was at first in the hospital. Carter now lifts his shirt up for everyone that comes over. Just tonight while I was putting his pjs on he lifted up his shirt and said, “See Mama, did you see my tubes?” He is very proud of them now, and we are so proud of him. He keeps making us all smile.
OMG - that is SO much food! Especially for a little guy who was only wanting Rice Krispy treats a week ago. YAY!

Praise God, praise God, praise God. It may be speratic right now, but praise God he does have a healthy appetite at least every other day. It seems like his body tanks up for the lean day.
ReplyDeleteFather keep touching Carter, keep shrinking and dissolving that tumor, keep tweaking and increasing his appetite. Thank You Father that Carter is more expressive and is picking up vocabulary left & right. Thank You Father that he is comfortable with the tubes and isn't fighting with them. Thank You Father for Bennett, such a sweet and compassionate brother. Bless Carter & Bennett, may their bond of brotherhood grow stronger and more enjoyable everyday. Father may Your angels continue to sing songs of healing over and into Carter throughout the day and night hours.
Father thank You for continuing to bless this family with health. Thank You Father for sending Your workers to help this family on a day to day basis. Father keep the window of blessings open over this family and continue to bless them beyond their imaginations in Jesus' mighty name.
