TGIF

Self Portrait...

I am always so happy when Friday rolls around, and know that Matt will be around all weekend. It’s so nice to all be together, and the boys have so much fun with their Dad.

Bennett scraped his leg on the door today and started crying and insisting on a band aid. Carter just kept saying, “Benny’s sad? Benny’s crying?” And all I could think about was that this little boy who is not even 2 years old has tubes coming out of the middle of his chest and endures some of the harshest drugs administered on a weekly basis without a complaint, and he is worried about his big brother’s scratch. There is no question in our minds, Carter will get through this.

By the way, Carter’s rash has started to go away in many areas. It is still pink under his Tegaderm, but this is skin that is never able to breathe to heal. We are just glad it is not spreading even more and does seem better. Matt has a theory that maybe it has to do with the contrast dye when he has a scan, or maybe it is the general anesthesia. We will definitely take a closer look at this as our next scan should be in about a week.

  1. What an adorable picture of all the Kipps! Carter looks happy and healthy...you can tell that he is eating because he seems to not be getting thinner. Keep those blueberries and pasta coming! Have a wonderful, uneventful weekend full of a little sun and lot's of fun. You guys are doing great and it will be over soon! Big hugs to all of you and a kiss for Bennys boo boo...he was probably a little dramatic so he could get some extra attention. Funny! XOXO Cindy and John

  3. What a lovely family portrait. Both boys are sweeties and seem to have such a tight bond. When Carter has been down there is Bennett being loving & patient. Now Carter is doing the same...such a sweet tenderness flows between both boys...yep yet another lesson us adults need to learn, the unconditional love of a brother/sister.

Praying your weekend is filled with more love, life and laughter. That you see more of God's blessings & provision. Still praying for the answer to the rash, heck really praying that annoying rash just disappears never to return! Still keeping all of you before God's throne of grace. Many hugs & blessings!
