Ups and Downs...

Carter rockin' in the playroom

Our stud angler

The big one!

Carter's liver levels today were higher (which is not good). We had been pretty consistently going down or maintaining all week. At first they discussed doing a biopsy, then it was decided it might be a little premature. We are going to see how his levels are tomorrow morning and will figure out if we can possibly go home tomorrow or Saturday, or if our stay will be extended. Keep positive thoughts that these levels will go down again! Apparently, ups and downs in levels are even more common with a young/small liver. And the only thing we know about Carter's donor (angel) is that they were 5 months old. We still think of the family constantly.

Carter has been feeling great. We went to the playroom today and he played in the kitchen...making sushi, so LA. And he played with the musical instruments, which he loves to do. And Bennett got to go fishing with Grammy and Denny, and they even caught a fish. So fun!

  1. We hope that Carter's liver levels go down tonight and tomorrow. It would be wonderful for you guys to be discharged this weekend! I'm sure Carter's 'sushi' was delicious ;) and nice job fishing, Benny!

  5. We hope those levels will go down so you can go home soon!!! What a big fish Bennett! Great job! I'm glad that Carter is feeling so well and is able to spend some time playing in the playroom and even making sushi!! Great work Carter! We'll pray for good news tonight about the levels and also for the family of the baby angel who donated Carter's liver...so heartbreaking to hear, but to glad that they were able to help Carter live cancer-free!!!
