Holding our breath

The boys can't stop thinking about Halloween

Bennett got a little runny nose the end of last week. He’s been washing his hands like crazy and we’re trying to have him keep a little distance from Carter…which just means not getting right in his face. It’s virtually impossible to keep them totally apart. They are having so much fun playing together and it’s so good for both of them. Carter really looks up to Bennett. If we want Carter to do something and we’ve asked and he’s refused, we have Benny ask him. And it usually works. Luckily, Bennett’s runny nose is on the mend. Now, we just have to hold our breath through the week and hope Carter doesn’t get sick. This is the crucial week in his cycle when we often have ER visits, but we are hopeful it won’t happen this last round. We feel like after this week, our chemo roller coaster ride will come to an end. We can’t wait! Then, from an oncology standpoint Carter is still pretty immunocompromised for three months from the end of chemo. So, 2010 will be a whole new life for Carter and our whole family!

  2. Love the posing in the photo...every kid loves Halloween and it is so cute that they are into it. Our house was decorated in September...you know an old teacher never dies your house becomes your bulletin board! I am praying Carter has a quick recovery from the broken leg and no reaction from the chemo...the finish line is within site. Hang on!!!! Hugs...xoxo Cindy and John
