Hoorah!Well, it really happened. Carter got to come home today! The doctor said as long as Carter kept his morning meds down and ate a little something he could go home. So when he said that, Carter asked him for some pancakes. He didn’t vomit, so we began the discharge routine. He had two more chemo drugs today before leaving. Also, the nurses all came in to his room with a sign, a gift, and sang “Happy last chemo to you! Happy last chemo to you!...” It makes me choked up just thinking about it. Yes, we have two more outpatient chemo days to go, but ending our inpatient stays in the hospital is a huge milestone! We are nearing the point we have dreamed of since April 17.
We’re hoping Carter’s nausea will pass in the next 2-3 days and that his appetite will come back by the end of the week. And we will hold our breath and pray for no fever through the end of this cycle!
Congratulations Carter and to the whole family. .. You did it! THe battle isn't totally over, but at least you can all be home to fight the rest together.

What an accomplishment indeed! Carter is such a blessing. This journey has been so hard, but so inspiring to those on the outside. I can't imagine the joy you all must feel. The next two treatments are going to be cake, we just know it. When does his central line and dressings go away? Sending you lots of love today. Hope a little celebration is going on in the Kipp household. XOXO Daralyn
