We are getting to the point now where we feel like we can set small goals and look ahead, instead of having to live minute to minute. Yes, we are still feeling like we are in survival-mode…with Carter’s care taking up a large percentage of our time and having a newborn baby. But, we know we will move beyond this soon enough. It’s nice to be able to look ahead now, even if it is just planning in your head that Friday is our last chemo treatment or that sometime after Thanksgiving Carter will get his central line taken out. Being able to look ahead feels good. Yes, there are still uncertainties, but we’ve gotten past some of the biggest uncertainties successfully. If we didn’t know it before, we now definitely know how to live in the moment and hope for good things to come.

ReplyDeleteIt is a very important thing to learn to live in the moment and very difficult to do, but yes, you guys have mastered it for awhile now. It is also so much fun to set goals for the future even if they are after Thanksgiving, at least you know life should be simpler than. You guys still amaze us continuously with your daily achievements whether it is administering a million medications successfully and without vomiting, getting everyone fed and entertained in the between time (whether they actually eat lots or not much), managing a Big Brother's daily activities (along with some illnesses) and then getting everyone calmly to bed at night no matter what the time. And to still find time to laugh about it and keep us all informed is beyond amazing.The pictures are always happy and adorable too! Keep up the fantastic work Kipps and we're thinking of you constantly still.

We so often say "live in the moment" and then don't do it. Thank you for reminding how precious the time we have is and that life is about wrapping family and friends up with ribbons of love. WE LOVE the pics, each one helps tell more about each boy and their amazing parents.
