Six month since diagnosis!

Bennett at the Pumpkin Patch solo with Mom.

Bennett picking out small, medium and large pumpkins for Davis, Carter and himself.

Wow! It’s hard to imagine what our life was like on April 16, but we definitely remember how we felt on April 17, 2009. This date will be engrained in us forever. This is the day a little innocence was taken from us, the day life became more complicated, and the day our family began a battle to save Carter’s life. We are happy to be six months out. We feel like we have accomplished so much and hopefully won this battle. Our path has been different than we had expected from the diagnosis date. But hopefully, our outcome is the same. The main objective was to rid Carter’s body of this disease. We feel like we have accomplished that…and next week’s tests will confirm it.

Tomorrow Bennett and I are looking forward to the CHOC Walk. We are honored to represent Carter and support the people that helped us get to this point. It should be a great day!

  1. It looks like he's having fun! You guys are accomplishing your goal of a healthy and cancer free Carter! I'm sure the scan will show that his body is rid of the disease and you can all move forward from these horrible past 6 months! We are so excited for the walk tomorrow and wish that we lived much closer to participate! We will definitely be wearing our "Carter's Crusaders" t-shirt with pride in honor of the big day! Have a great time and we'll be there fully in spirit!
