Dishwasher on overdrive…

The Kipp boys

Matt asked me yesterday why we end up running our dishwasher every day or every other day. This evening I told him why…for dinner tonight Carter had (by his request) a pb&j sandwich, tortellini pasta with alfredo sauce, quesadilla and guacamole, donuts (left over from Sunday morning) and blueberries. Then, he ate some of Matt’s chicken quesadilla and beans. Carter usually ends up eating just a few bites or maybe half of everything, but he is eating. So, we have to keep it coming, which results in many dirty dishes!

Carter was pretty lethargic on and off all day. Finally, we called the outpatient infusion center and explained how Carter had been. We asked if this is normal when a child needs a blood transfusion. The nurse said they’ll look at his counts tomorrow while we’re in for chemo, and if he needs a transfusion we can do so then. We were relieved she told us we didn’t have to worry about it today, especially because Carter did have energy some of the time. So, tomorrow we are off for our last weekly dose of chemo before Round 3 starts next week.
