Busy routine

Carter peeking in on baby brother

For some reason, our daily routine seems to take so much longer right now. In these past few post-transplant weeks things have gone so smoothly and we really had things figured out. Now, since chemo last week it seems like it threw a wrench in everything. Carter fights to take any and all meds, so that process is longer. And I guess there is the whole factor with having to take care of another baby. As crazy as things are, we wouldn’t trade it for anything though. These boys are precious.

Carter seems to be slightly better today than yesterday and we’ll take any improvements. He still doesn’t have the appetite he had earlier last week, but we’re hopeful it will keep improving. Today was a doctor-free day, but tomorrow Matt and Carter are headed to UCLA and Friday Carter has outpatient chemo. It’s definitely a crazy schedule and will stay this way through the remainder of his treatment. I find myself flipping ahead in my calendar yearning for those days to come quickly, and looking at the expiration on the milk carton thinking mid-October is right around the corner.

  1. I love your comment about the milk carton - you are right and mid-October IS right around the corner! Lets hope by the weekend that Carter has an appetite and doesn't fight the meds as much. Good luck today at UCLA!

  2. Wow! You have very good genes...a sense of humor to get through the day, great comment on the milk carton! You and Matt do have precious cargo and so blessed to have each other. How do you find the time to catch such cute pics of your life?? Positive thoughts on your UCLA visit.
    Lots of hugs,

  3. Thinking of you guys and continuing prayers for you all! Congrats on your anniversary yesterday, that is not only an achievement, but a testament to what a great team you are. As others have said, I love the milk carton comment, and it's coming soon!

Carter is looking so much more like his "old self" (at least from what I can tell in earlier pics), and I hope that continues. Yay for Bennett starting school & soccer--what a guy! Davis looks great and the amazing thing is, he won't ever know that these first months of his life were so crazy (aside from the stories!)

  4. Praise God Carter is regaining ground. A few things I have learned on the journey is that God's timing isn't at all like our timing...He created time so He gets to set it up anyway He wishes. Carter's full manifested healing will come in God's timing, so hang in there. Healings are a progression, miracles are instaneous, which means Carter is going to have to "walk" out his healing...taking and claiming his healing day by day, again hang in there. Many have prayed for Carter's healing and many still are praying for it to be completed. Another thing I learned is God is faithful and what He puts in motion nothing and no one can stop....so again hang in there. I will pray the Holy Spirit puts a knot in the thread you seem to be hanging on by...HS is faithful as well! Many hugs, many prayers!
