Infection is gone!

Has anyone seen where all the spoons have gone on the oncology floor?!

Well, Carter's blood culture came back negative for an infection. Yeah! So, hopefully this means the antibiotic worked. We will still need to continue it for 8 days. It is administered via IV and takes about an hour. This will add to our already very long morning routine. Carter's ANC is still zero, but his white blood cell count went up. They are hopeful his ANC will follow. We will continue the GCSF to help his counts go up.

Rumor has it, Carter may be able to go home tomorrow. Matt and I don't want to get our hopes up. We'll believe it when we see it. The plan is for Carter to have his chemo treatment tomorrow, and then head home! That would make for a great weekend!!

Grammy, thanks for spending the day with Carter so Matt could go into the office! We don't know what we would do without you!

  1. It is so funny what a handful of spoons can do for Carter! What a happy smile! I hope he doesn't outgrow his utensil fetish for at least a few more years. Too cute! I can't believe how terrific he looks for what he is going through! Yayyyyyy Carter!
